Zune Software Customizer 3.1.1
It’s been a while, but hopefully it’ll be worth the wait as this release has quite a few new features and bugfixes. As you can see by this release I am certainly open for new ideas, so if you have any feature requests feel free to submit a comment.
Changelog:
- 3.1.1
- Changes:
- Added a Now Playing specific section to the Display-> Settings menu with the following features:
- Options to set the Now Playing Background Image to something other than the default Grid View.
- Added a option to make the Now Playing Progress Bar slider scale to the window size.
- Added a option to disable the artist imagery in the Now Playing View/Land. This will allow those with a custom background to have it always showing.
- Moved the Custom Now Playing Font Size under this section.
- Added Four Album Art Sliders for the following areas:
- Now Playing View/Land
- Now Playing Progress Bar
- Albums View
- Artists View
- Increased the size of the custom color sliders
- Changed the wording on the theme buttons so that all four buttons fit in the smallest window size possible.
- Modified the installer so that it provides a little more guidance on what is happening and what to do if something goes wrong/isn’t working. Also now the installer will automatically close the Zune Software if it is open.
- Added a Now Playing specific section to the Display-> Settings menu with the following features:
- Bugfixes:
- Fixed list item colors in numerous spots (Purchases/Download History, Top X Lists, etc.).
- Fixed all color problems that I was made aware of (MarketplacePageTitle, ListItemSelectedBackground, ListItemBackground) along with a few others (ColumnDivider, ScrollBarThumb, ScrollBarBackground, ScrollPath, TransportButton, TransportButtonHoverColor, and many others).
- Fixed it so the text under the custom color sliders updates correctly.
- Fixed the explicit warning message so that it displays correctly for dark themes.
- Changes:
If you are a first time user I’d recommend going to the projects page where you can read all about the Zune Software Customizer: Zune Software Customizer Project Page.
If you aren’t a first time user you can use the following link which will always link to the latest release: Zune Software Customizer Latest Version Direct Link.
Update: If the album art sliders aren’t working for you initially (for example if the Now Playing Land View one is just moving the album art up and down after you set a size), please restart your zune software and then they should work. Let me know if they don’t after a restart.

AWESOME!
Precisely what I was looking for
I can’t wait to see what else you can do with it!
I’ve been having problems trying to update the slider bar. It seems when I change the color of the slider tab, it changes the tab and the unactive slider bad itself. The tabs for the slider bar only apply when you hover over a portion of the bar, rather than the tab.
If possible could you change it so you can color the slider and the bar separately? Or if I’m doing this wrong tell me what colors I need to change. What I’m trying to make is the slider bar itself be a dark purple while having the slider tab (the thing you click and drag up and down) be blue.
Thanks
I’ll take a look into this to see if it’s possible to change how that works. With whats currently available you are right it’s not possible.
Hi! I think your program is great, but it’s not working under Vista Home Premiun 64 bits and Zune Software 64 bits edition version 3.1.620. Any idea?
I use x64 Vista Ultimate and it works fine. Did you follow the instructions, specifically the run as administrator portion?
I reinstalled your program and now it works. I think the only difference it’s that this time I selected the choice of “Run Zune Software Customizer” at the end of the wizard. :S
Thank you!!!!
I installed the customizer as administrator and everything works fine, but when I connect my zune80, it automatically causes the zune software to crash and does so as long as it is connected. I’ve reinstalled both the software and the customizer several times but it doesn’t change anything, any idea what I can to to fix it?
(BTW I’m running Windows 7 x64, which should work the same as Vista x64 anyway)
does it crash when the zune software customizer is uninstalled? maybe try running unzoone http://remove-it.org/tools/unzoone and then reinstalling the zune software by itself?
when the zune software customizer is not installed, the zune connects and runs fine without crashing, but with the customizer installed, when I connect my zune it causes the Zune software to crash. I tried running unzoone and reinstalling but it still crashed with the customizer installed.
Can you post the contents of the ZSCInstall.log (in your Zune program files directory)? Doubt it has anything useful but just want to make sure. I can’t replicate your problem, so I might have to recommend you personally don’t use the Zune Software Customizer for the time being. Is the RC of Windows 7 still free? Maybe I’ll try and set that up locally at some point.
ZSCinstall:
————————Start——————————-
– Step 1. Backup old dll / Copy new dll
1 file(s) copied.
1 file(s) copied.
– Step 2. Backup old dll / Copy new dll
1 file(s) copied.

————————-End——————————

Begin cleanup
cleanup successful

and yes, the Windows 7 RC is free and available at least until June 30.
Great work!
I don’t know why the font size of now playing doesnt change…, and how can you change the color of the blue fire at the bottom using the dark theme…
Tnx
I’m not sure what exactly your first part is trying to say? The now playing font can be changed using the customizer. What exactly are you trying to do and what isn’t happening?
You can’t change the color through the customizer, I’m sure someone has documented the steps on how to do it through resource hacking over at zunescene.com
Mmm
I tried to change the font using the customizer…
I tried to change from 8 to 14 the NowPlayingNotificationTitle
Then I clicked on “Set Font Size”
Then Aplied the changes
But the font doesn’t change
Any idea?
looks like there is a bug, I’ll have to take a look at it.
Tnx !!
It´s realy an amazing piece of work!!!
It looks even better using some hacks
